Yezdi Roadster vs Royal Enfield Meteor 350 comparison | Which is Better

When it was introduced a few years ago, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 was the automotive version of โ€œmaking a splash & stealing the show.โ€ It kept blowing existing ideas about what a RE should indeed be out of the water and quickly became our segment favorite. Today, the Meteor faces growing competition for its throne. Yezdiโ€™s cruiser-style Roadster comes new to the scene and is more powerful, has a completely different personality, yet costs approximately the same amount of money.

Yezdi has returned with a passion! The resurrected brand has joined the Indian motorcycle market with three separate products โ€“ Adventure, Scrambler, and Roadster โ€“ each customized precisely for its respective class. The Roadster is a sporty cruiser with broad appeal, and we feel it will attract the most purchasers.

Here, we compare the Yezdi Roadster to its main competition in the Indian market, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, to see how they compare.

Design

Yezdi Roadster is a sporty cruiser with such a neo-retro aesthetic. It has a circular headlamp, a flat handlebar, a curving fuel tank, a round taillight, or a long rear fender. The engine casing features false cooling fins, which add to the bikeโ€™s classic appeal. There are also choices for bar-end mirrors, a pillion backrest, and a windshield.

The Roadsterโ€™s riding position differs from that of a standard cruiser. The handlebar isnโ€™t particularly high, the footpegs are just slightly forward, as well as the scooped seat is low. The riding position is upright & natural, making it suitable for both travel and city riding.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is likewise a stylish, retro-inspired motorbike. It has a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a round rear fender, and round mirrors, as well as a round headlight and a round taillamp.

The handlebars on the Meteor 350 are rather high, and the footpegs are quite far forward. This, paired with the low scooped seat, gives the motorbike a comfortable riding posture that is ideal for long-distance touring. There isnโ€™t an obvious victor in terms of design between these two motorcycles.

Features and equipment

The Yezdi cruiser has telescopic front suspension and twin shock absorbers at the back. The instrument cluster is a circular pod that houses an LCD instrument console. A second digital screen might be provided as an addition in the future, adding a smartphone connection (through Bluetooth) to the bike.

Connected features such as turn-by-turn navigation, call/text notifications, ride reports, and owner profiles will be accessible with smartphone connectivity. Aside from that, the motorbike has an LED headlight, an LED taillamp, disc brakes on both wheels, dual-channel ABS, and alloy wheels (18-inch front and 17-inch rear). The RE Meteor 350 is likewise quite well equipped, with a semi-digital console and tripper navigation as standard. It also has an LED DRL ring with a halogen headlight, an LED taillight, disc brakes on both wheels, dual-channel ABS, and alloy wheels (19-inch front and 17-inch rear).

In addition, the Stellar model has a pillion backrest and a chrome finish for the exhaust, and the Supernova variant has a tall windshield and machine-cut alloy wheels. All Meteor 350 models have telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers as part of their suspension system. In terms of equipment, the RE performs somewhat better thanks to the basic navigation system, although Yezdi isnโ€™t far behind.

Engine specifications

The Roadster is the more powerful of the two, with its 334cc liquid-cooled engine producing greater power and torque than the Meteor 350โ€™s 349cc air/oil-cooled engine. The Yezdi also has a 6-speed transmission, however, the Royal Enfield has a 5-speed transmission.

Yezdi Roadster will undoubtedly outperform Royal Enfield Meteor 350 thanks to a more powerful engine and less kerb weight. However, weโ€™ll have to put them both through their paces to determine how they compare in practice.
