The Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 has been introduced at a price of Rs 1.60 lakh

India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has released the up to date Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0, which includes a slew of new features and colour options. The new Yamaha MT-15 has a 37 mm inverted front fork, a new aluminium swingarm, and a new digital device console with Bluetooth connectivity and the Y-Connect mobile app. The Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 also is available in new colour options, including Cyan Storm and Racing Blue, as well as Ice Fluo-Vermillion & Metallic Black. The new MT-15 becomes priced at RS: 1,59,900. (Ex-showroom).

According to India Yamaha, a new reversed front fork has 37 mm inner tubes, also with an unsprung lower end lighter and the sprung upper end having thick outer tubes attached to a chassis for increased rigidity. The box-section swingarm has been replaced with a MotoGP-inspired aluminium swingarm, which is said to improve cornering and braking stability. The MT-15 has a kerb weight of 139 kg and Yamaha’s patented Deltabox frame and is said to aid in handling.

The Chairman of the Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, Eishin Chihana, stated, “Yamaha fans have long lauded the MT-15 for its excellent handling and performance, but they have been hoping for a much more advanced version of the Dark Warrior. The release of the new MT-15 Version 2.0 exemplifies Yamaha’s ability to exceed customer expectations as part of ongoing ‘The Call of the Blue’ marketing strategy. We are certain that the MT-15 Version 2.0, with its updated set of features and technologies, will attract more young riders looking for a luxury street-naked motorcycle that achieves the appropriate mix among longer rides and daily commuting needs.”

The R-155 cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine shared with Yamaha YZF-R15 continues to produce 18.1 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The new Yamaha MT-15 also has a redesigned instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, which includes functions such as call notifications, email & SMS alerts, and smartphone battery status via the Bluetooth-enabled Y-Connect App.
