Gurpratap Boparai has joined Mahindra & Mahindra as CEO of the company’s European automotive division, which includes Automobili Pininfarina and Peugeot Motorcycles. This information comes from an internal message distributed by the corporation to tell the staff of the appointment.
Boprai stepped down as managing director of Skoda Volkswagen Auto India earlier this month, after successfully leading the Group’s ambitious India 2.0 initiative for three years.
He oversaw the consolidation of three VW Group firms, Volkswagen India, Skoda Auto India, and Volkswagen Group Sales India, to establish SAVWIPL. Under his supervision, the VW Group’s 1 billion Euro ‘India 2.0’ project was also completed, giving rise to vehicles such as the Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun, with the Skoda Slavia and a VW sedan to come in the following months.
