Audi India has unveiled the new RS 5 Sportback with a starting price of Rs 1.04 million (former showroom, India). Unlike the previously sold two-door coupe, the Mercedes-Benz AMG C 63 rival returns to India with a four-door duffel bag.
The 2021 RS 5 Sportback complements the S5 Sportback and RS7 Sportback, introduced in March, from Audi India’s high-performance sedan series. Larger front grille, new matrix LED headlights, and a new 10.1-inch touchscreen. Develop a top speed of 250 km / h RS. A special type of driving.
Exterior and interior
Compared to the two-door coupe unveiled in India in 2018, the refreshed RS5 has a distinct look and two additional doors. The front grille is oversized and finished in high-gloss black with honeycomb inserts. The headlights are sharper and feature Matrix LED technology. Similar to the RS-only buffer, the air intake has been redesigned.
The sloping roofline gives the RS5 Sportback a sporty coupé silhouette. The Sportback also features frameless doors for added visual appeal and comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels. The rear includes new LED taillights as well as an updated diffuser and bumper. The Audi RS5 Sportback is available in eight colors: Nardo Gray, Turbo Blue, Tango Red, Myth Black, Glacier White, Navara Blue, Sonoma Green, and Daytona Gray.
The overall cab layout and lane layout are almost identical to the previous model. However, the 2021 RS 5 has a completely revamped infotainment system. The interior is finished in black and gray leather and Alcantara upholstery with aluminum trim. The RS Sportback has stainless steel pedals and an RS base plate on the steps.
Equipment
The 2021 Audi RS 5 Sportback features a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Audi MMI plus navigation and MMI touch technology, 12.3-inch digital devices in the virtual cockpit, and a 180W Audi audio system. RS-spoke steering wheel, paddle shifters, 3-zone automatic air conditioning, electrically adjustable front sports seats, Alcantara and leather seats, ambient lighting, panoramic sliding roof, and cruise control.
For safety reasons, the RS 5 Sportback has six airbags, ABS with EBD, heel restraint system, ESC, ISOFIX child seat mount, rear camera, front and rear parking sensors. Buyers of the RS 5 Sportback also receive a free 5-year warranty and a 5-year support package from Audi.
Engine and drivetrain
The 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback features a 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine with 450 hp and 600 Nm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed Audi Quattro four-wheel drive automatic transmission. The RS 5 Sportback accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km / h.
The Sportback also features two RS modes that alter the car’s power, transmission, and steering sensitivity. This mode is controlled by the Audi drive select button on the steering wheel. The RS Sport suspension is also part of the package and is said to be “honed for excellent driving dynamics on the road.”
