The Mahindra XUV700 has been awarded a full, 5- star safety standing by the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program). The SUV scored five stars for adult inhabitant protection and four stars for child inhabitant protection in the rearmost round of crash tests conducted by the safety guard.

The Mahindra XUV700 was subordinated to the front neutralize deformable hedge (ODB) test at 64kph. In addition to the ODB test, the SUV was also subordinated to a side impact test.
The XUV700 scored16.03 points out of a possible 17 for adult inhabitant protection and41.66 points out of 49 for child inhabitant protection. It was arbitrated to offer good protection to the motorist’s and passenger’s head, neck, casket, and knees. The SUV’s body shell and footwell area have been rated as stable and able of opposing farther ladings.
The model tested by Global NCAP was equipped with binary airbags, ABS, frontal seatbelt pre-tensioners, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
Adult Occupant Safety
The driver and passenger received proper protection for their heads, necks, and chests. The knees of the driver and passenger were well protected. The tibias of the driver provided adequate protection, while the tibias of the passengers provided adequate and good protection. The bodyshell and footwell area was rated as steady and capable of withstanding additional loadings. Seatbelt Notifications (SBR) are regular for both the driver and the passenger. Child Occupant Safety
The 3-year-old & 1.5-year-old child seats were installed rearward facing with ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg. Both were able to keep their heads from being exposed during the impact. The Child Restraint System (CRS) marking was satisfactory. The recommended CRSs were not incompatible. In the rear Centre position, the car has a lap belt. All of the above-mentioned factors contributed to the four-star rating for child occupant protection.
More information on the Mahindra XUV700
The Mahindra XUV700 was introduced in our market earlier this year, with prices ranging from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 22.99 lakh after revision (ex-showroom, India). Mahindra offers the XUV700 in two trim levels: MX and AX.
The XUV700 is powered by a pair of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 200hp/380Nm, 2.0-litre mStallion turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The diesel is a 2.2-liter mHawk turbocharged unit with two tuning options. The lower output unit (found in the entry-level MX trims) produces 155hp and 360Nm and is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. The higher-spec AX variants get an engine with 185hp and 420Nm (450Nm with the automatic transmission), as well as the option of an automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.
In terms of safety tackle, the top-spec XUV700 variant gets ESP, seven airbags, motorist doziness discovery, bus high-ray help and supporter headlights, as well as Advanced Motorist Assistance Systems (ADAS), features like encouraging Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Thickets (AEB), Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and the Smart Pilot Help or business help (AT only).
