The new 911 Dakar, a particularly unusual variation of the famous 911, will be unveiled by Porsche.

Porsche will finally take the wraps off the long-awaited 911 Dakar, a hardcore off-road edition of its flagship coupé, at the Los Angeles motor show on November 16, 2022.

In contrast to pure sheet ice, the thick ice of the frozen lakes provides Porsche test drivers with the ideal foundation for an approximately 90% closed compacted snow surface.

Drivers mercilessly drove a off sports car up steep, 50-meter dunes in temperatures as high as 45 degrees Celsius in Dubai and Morocco.

The 911 Dakar may particularly benefit from its conceptual advantages in this situation, powerful rear-mounted engine, and low weight all combine to provide a great driving experience.

The development engineers, led by General Project Manager Achim Lamparter, did not just limit their testing to extensive use of the Weissach off-road proving grounds.

In reality, the 911 Dakar was put through its paces by the development team during more than 500,000 kilometres of testing in rough terrain, including more than 10,000 kilometres off-road.
