Hyundai Motor has finally launched its highly anticipated i20N lineup in India. The selling price starts from INR. Rs 9,84,000 (formerly a showroom, India). The Hyundai i20N line features unique aesthetic details inside and out, as well as a sportier chassis and exhaust system.
The i20 N family was and will be the first high-performance Hyundai N Division vehicle in India. The N-Line model has undergone only cosmetic changes and minor mechanical improvements. India’s complete Model N still looks like a distant reality. The I20 N line is powered by a 120-liter turbo petrol engine producing 120 hp.
Powertrain options include 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT. Two versions N6 and N8, detailed price list of the new i20 N line in India and comparison with corresponding trims of the regular i20. Two-tone paint costs an additional Rs 15,000 from the i20N range.
Hyundai I20N Line-[EXTERIOR & INTERIOR]
Appearance: This is primarily the theme of the i20 N line and definitely looks awkward. First, there is a sportier two-tone bumper with deeper fog lights and a new front splitter. The radiator grille has been redesigned with a new design inspired by the ‘checkered flag’ and N-Line logo.
The red bumper inserts create a sporty impression. The i20N line features a redesigned 16-inch alloy wheel. There are also side sills with red accents and red brake caps at the front. The rear has a sporty bumper with a distinctive diffuser and twin tailpipes, a tailgate spoiler with side flaps, and dark chrome trim connecting the two taillights.
The i20 N line has four color options and two color options: Thunder Blue (new and exclusive), Fire Red, Titan Gray, and Polar White. Thunder blue with a phantom black roof and fiery red with a roof Black.
Interior and Equipment: Overall, the dashboard design is almost identical to that of a conventional passenger car. However, the black interior is accentuated by red accents and red ambient lighting. There’s also a new checkered flag with the N logo on the leather seats, metal pedals, a dedicated three-spoke steering wheel, and the usual N i20 leather buttons.

This includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, single-panel roof, and seven-speaker system. The i20 N Line also gets an updated Bluelink app with new voice recognition and 16 free over-the-air map updates.
Safety features include six airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a rearview camera, automatic headlights, electronic stability control (ESC), electronic stability control (VSC), and a headlamp assist system (HAC).
Hyundai I20N Line–[Drivetrain and Gear Upgrades]
For enthusiasts, the i20 N line starts under the hood. Hyundai already offers the i20N family a 120 hp 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. and 172 Nm, powered by the regular i20. The engine is mated to a 6-speed EMT gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The DCT transmission also features a paddle shifter that enhances driver interaction. Hyundai once again missed the opportunity to introduce a turbocharged manual transmission to the i20. Fortunately, there are several mechanical improvements that set it apart from the regular model. The i20 N line impresses with a sportier exhaust sound and a new dual exhaust system at the rear.
The chassis is tuned for a sportier setting and offers better cornering and handling. Hyundai also claims to have improved the handling of the i20N family. A big improvement is the inclusion of rear disc brakes for better braking performance compared to the standard i20, which only has front disc brakes.
